From the old german for "resolute helmet" the name was brought to England by the Normans at the time of the Conquest. William was for many years the most popular name in England and has been borne by English kings and many famous men, including William Shakespeare and William Wordsworth.

William was born on 10th September 2001 and was christened in December 2001.

This lovely picture of William was sent to us by his mother Nina, who tells us that William's gown is already becoming a family heirloom and will soon be worn by his little sister, Laura, for her christening.
