Made popular as a girls name by Alfred, Lord Tennyson in his poem "Vivien and Merlin" (1859). Merlin the magician fell in love with the beautiful Vivien, Lady of the Lake. She turned his magic against him and imprisoned him in a castle of air, from which he could not escape.

at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, Houston,Texas.
