From the Old German, Chlodowig, meaning "Famous Warrior". The French version, Louis, was borne by 18 French kings.
Emily:
From the Latin, meaning "Eager". Derived from the old Roman family name Aemilius, it was revived in the 19th century and is now very popular. One of it's most famous bearers was Emily Bronte (1818-48), the novelist and poet.
