Emma: An old French name of Germanic origin, meaning "whole" or "universal". Jane Austen used the name for the heroine of her famous novel, Emma, in 1816.

Emma was christened in April 2005 and is pictured in her "Antoinette" christening gown and bonnet.

Emma's mother, Elaine, sent us these lovely pictures of her beautiful little daughter and tells us:- "Thank you so much for the beautiful gown! She looked like a little doll! Emma was Christened this April, and your gown helped to make it a memorable event for everyone!"

Emma's mother, Elaine, tells us:- "Emma is now a happy, healthy and very active 16 month old baby…….she is able to communicate with us through sign and speech (her vocabulary consists of over 40 words)….her new passion is Minnie Mouse, she just can’t get enough of her…..and she is truly the love of our lives"

Hina Matsuri - Japanese Girls' Festival March 3rd is Japanese Girl's Day called hina matsuri (hina doll festival) or momo no sekku (peach flower festival.) A set of hina dolls wearing kimono is displayed at home of Japanese girls. It's a festival for Japanese girls. People pray for girls' happiness and health, eating special food such as chirashi-zushi (colorful sushi), clam soup, sakura mochi (sweet rice cakes), and more.
