From the Greek meaning "Anointed". The name has been used in England since the 13th century and became popular when John Bunyan used it for the hero of "Pilgrim's Progress", published in 1684.

"Wanted to send a quick note to let you know that Christian's outfit was an absolute HIT on Easter Sunday. When he toddled down the church aisle, we got SO many compliments.."

"Even though I purchased it for my son for Easter, I let him wear it in a baby contest that he was in last Saturday...and he took home the prize for "Best Dressed Baby"."
Congratulations !! We can well understand how Christian won - we think he is really adorable.
