| Amy Claire Rogers's Page
|

| Amy: From the old French, meaning "beloved". Used in England since the middle ages, the name became popular in the 19th century on the publication in 1855 of "Little Dorritt" by Charles Dickens. Amy Dorritt was the saintly little seamstress of Marshalsea Prison. Amy Johnson was famous in the 20th century as the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia, in 1930. |
